Entering your equipment into the Gear module of fotoBiz and assigning it to a camera bag can make last minute equipment adjustments worry free. This allows you to remain focused on preparing for the finer details of your shoot and helps you to be sure you have the proper equipment with you to get the job done.

I had a customer recently share with me a left-behind-lens-scenario that could have been prevented had he made use of the packing lists as an equipment checklist before he left the site. When you are in the middle of a shoot your attention is focused on getting the shot, not where you placed the last lens you used. Having the packing lists created in fotoBiz with you, is a great tool to ensure that no equipment is left behind.

In the Gear module you have the option to fill out detailed information for each piece of equipment, everything from the original and replacement costs, to the manufacturer and how much the piece of equipment weighs. By assigning your equipment to a gear bag, you'll know how much each bag weighs, (which can come in handy when flying) and the replacement value of the gear in that bag.

There is also a field to check whether or not you've notified your insurer about the piece of equipment, whether it is new, lost or stolen. In the unfortunate event you would need to, this can make completing insurance claims a breeze.
